Daft Punk and Rod Stewart Top the Charts
- in Latest
Daft Punk have made it four weeks at the top of the UK Single Chart with their song Get Lucky while Rod Stewart has made it to the top of the album chart with his first album of original material for nearly 40 years.
Stewart’s last album of original material was 1976’s A Night on the Town but his new album, Time managed to fight off some stiff competition from rising star Gabrielle Aplin and indie band Vampire Weekend.
Daft Punk have re-entered the album chart at number 29 with their album Discovery ahead of the release of their new album Random Access Memory and no doubt helped by the current success of their single Get Lucky.
Random Access Memory is released this week and will no doubt give Rod Stewart a run for his money if he hopes to stay at number one this week.
In the singles chart, Daft Punk didn’t really see much in the way of competition this week, easily fighting off any threats from the likes of Passenger with Let Go, who ended at number 2, and US star Demi Lovato, who scored number 3 with her single Heart Attack.
