Emeli Sande’s debut album Our Version of Events has finally dropped out of the top ten in the album charts after an astounding 66 weeks.
The album was first released in February 2012 and shot straight into the top 10, quickly selling millions of copies.
This week it dropped from number 8 to number 15 but not before breaking a multitude of records including one previously held by the Beatles for most consecutive weeks in the top 10 by s debut album.
Please Please Me was in the top 10 for 62 weeks from its release, a record that has now been smashed by Sande with her debut which has now sold well over 1.82 million copies.
There is no news as yet as to a follow up for the hugely successful album although Sande did contribute, along with many other famous names, to the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
Sande did a cover of Beyonce’s hit Crazy in Love for the star studded album which also includes Beyonce herself and Lana Del Rey.
