Ed Sheeran Reveals New Album Will be About Relationships
- in Latest
Ed Sheeran has provided a little bit of information regarding his upcoming second album, revealing that it will focus on relationships.
Sheeran has been working on the follow-up to his hugely successful debut album, + and information about it has been scarce until now.
Sheeran told Hollywood Life: "It's not an album about fame and fortune, it's an album about relationships."
It has been widely known that Ed has been close friends with Taylor Swift for quite some time and she is of course famous for writing songs about past relationships, something that Ed defended in the interview: "I think you sing about what you know.
"There's nothing worse than singing a song that has no relevance to you, and all the songs she's singing have a deep relevance to her. They're all personal."
Sheeran later went on to reveal that he has already written about 40 songs for the new album which means it could be some time before the final track list is decided.
Another interesting point to note about the new album is that it is said to be “more hip-hop like” which could be a whole different direction for Sheeran who is well known for his acoustic music.
