Rihanna Becomes Youngest Artist to Headline French Venue
- in Latest
Rihanna has become the youngest ever artist to play a headline show at the Stade de France.
Rihanna played the venue as part of her current Diamonds World Tour which has seen her perform all across the world.
Before appearing on stage, 25 year old Rihanna retweeted one of her followers who said: "Rihanna is also the youngest person to ever headline Stade De France.”
A post on the stadium’s website seems to support the claim after it noted last year that Lady Gaga “will be the youngest artist ever to tread the stage at the stadium,” at which point she was aged 26.
The list of people who have performed at the stadium in the last 8 months also does not reveal an act who played a headlining role who was younger than Rihanna.
In addition to her being the youngest to headline at the venue, Rihanna is also one of only here black artists who have headlined there, the other two of which are Prince and Tina Turner.
Rihanna responded to the news of this by tweeting: “That damn Rihanna reign!!! #justwontletup #StadeDeFrance #STADIUMSTATUS.”
