Apple have finally officially confirmed that iTunes Radio will be available to users this autumn.
The technology giant had up until now kept tight-lipped about the new service but has recently signed agreements with the major record companies which has enabled the project to go forward.
The service will feature over 200 radio stations and will have an ad-supported version which will be free.
Users will also have access to personalized radio stations which will be tailored according to what they have previously listened to on iTunes but will also still be able to listen to genre-specific stations engineered by Apple.
Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services said of iTunes Radio: "iTunes Radio is an incredible way to listen to personalised radio stations which have been created just for you.
"It's the music you love most and the music you're going to love, and you can easily buy it from the iTunes Store with just one click."
Apple also announced that iTunes Radio would be available as standard on the new iOS7 through its music app and will also be available to users of iTunes on both Mac and PC.
