Rock legends Black Sabbath are on track to get their first UK number one album for 43 years.

The new album titled 13 is the first in 35 years to feature the original members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler and is currently sitting at the top of the midweek charts though it could of course all change by Sunday.

Kerrang! magazine have described it as “rock's biggest comeback in 35 years” and if 13 remains at number one until the end of the week it will be the band’s first hart topping album since Paranoid back in 1970.

Black Sabbath’s main competition for the top spot comes from Liam Gallagher’s band Beady Eyes who are currently only 4,500 copies behind so they do have their work cut out if they want to remain at the top.

The midweek singles chart shows that Robin Thicke is on track for another week at number one with his song Blurred Lines which will make it third week at the top spot.
