Ozzy Osbourne Reacts to Number One Album
- in Latest
Ozzy Osbourne is said to be in shock after Black Sabbath’s latest album 13 entered into the chart at number one.
In addition to reaching the coveted top spot, they also broke the record for the longest time between number one albums, this being the band’s first in 43 years.
Ozzy released a statement saying: "I'm in shock, the success of this album has blown me off my feet.
"We've never had a record climb the charts so fast."
Ozzy also spoke of beating the record which was previously set by Rod Stewart only last month: "It's great! But Rod's the same as us, we've got something other people haven't got.
"It's all manufactured bulls**t these days. But the likes of Rod, and Elton John and us have got something different. We know our craft."
He was cagey on details of when we might see any new material from Black Sabbath saying: "I don't know either way. We're still revelling in coming back with this. There probably will be another album, but I don't want to promise anything to anyone," he said.
"It took us long enough to do this, and we can't wait another 43 years to have another No 1. If it comes to pass we don't make another record, then I can rest easily knowing we finished things properly with 13."
