Tractor to Provide Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot at Glastonbury
- in Latest
Glastonbury festival-goers will be able to enjoy public Wi-Fi for the first time this year thanks to an eco friendly tractor.
Mobile giant EE have converted the tractor owned by Michael Eavis into a roaming hotspot which will provide the public with access up to a 10 metre radius.
EE brand director Spencer McHugh said: "We couldn't be more excited about this year's Glastonbury, where we will be installing the first ever superfast 4G network at a UK festival to help those on site stay connected.
"Our 4G tractor demonstrates the innovative approach we're taking to bring the fastest mobile internet speeds to the UK in a uniquely Glastonbury way, and uses similar technology to our fleet of 4G cabs trialled earlier this year."
The location of the tractor on site will be announced by regular updates via Twitter.
The Glastonbury site will be open from Wednesday with acts playing between Friday and Sunday.
