The Voice winner Andrea Begley has revealed that she is in talks with her label and is hoping to get her debut album out by Christmas.
The winner of last year’s series Leanne Mitchell faltered with her debut which wasn’t released until more than a year after she won the show.
Andrea is hoping not to repeat the same mistake this year and she is even hoping to get some of her own material included on the album.
She told This Morning: "I'm quite busy for the next few months. The idea is to get an album together pretty quickly and I met the label yesterday to discuss what we are going to do and at the moment I have some of my own material which I'd like to try and get on to the new album and hopefully get something out in the shops before Christmas.
"Everybody is obviously aware that last year things didn't go maybe as well as they could've done, and I think lessons have been learnt. And certainly it’s important I think to build on things at the moment and get something out there soon - hopefully that will turn things this year."
Andrea has denied claims that there is tension between her and Will.i.am after he was so vocal about his own act Leah McFall losing out to her.
"We spoke afterwards and I totally understand why he was very disappointed because the coaches are so competitive with each other and he wanted his act to win and he supported Leah one hundred and ten percent," she said
"I think it probably was quite a surprise because Leah was the favourite in the end. But Will said, 'If you had been on my team, I would've been just as behind you'."
