Motorhead Cancel Shows Due to Lemmy’s Ill Health
- in Latest
Motorhead were forced to pull out of two gigs in Europe after front man Lemmy Kilmister suffered from a haematoma.
The band were originally meant to be playing gigs in Austria on June 22nd and Milan last night (25th) but the nature of Lemmy’s condition where blood collects outside of a blood vessel forced them to pull out.
The scale of Lemmy’s condition has not yet been revealed but it is the second blow to the singer’s health in recent months with him recently having to be fitted with a defibrillator due to problems with his heart.
The band are planning big things for their 40th anniversary in 2015 providing that Lemmy is back to health by then. When questioned about their plans, Lemmy said: "We'll think of something; we always do - probably involving naked women or something."
He also spoke about why he thought the band had lasted so long: "We've been lucky; we've been around so long people realise they can't get us to go away, so they've just decided to join us. You might not like what we do, but we do what we do very well."
