According to reports, Lilly Allen has been banned from using her married name by her record label over fears that the American market won’t know who she is.

Lilly married Sam Cooper back in 2011 and had announced plans to record under the name Lilly Rose Cooper.

A report by the Sunday Mirror suggests however that her record label is worried that doing so could affect her sales in America because they won’t realise who he is.

A source told the newspaper: "Lily is very happily married and wants to use her husband Sam's surname for work. She is seeing what she can negotiate."

Lilly has previously announced plans to release her eagerly anticipated third album in March next year and has worked with producer Greg Kurstin to get it done.

She previously said in an interview: "I'm really enjoying writing it and hope it will be ready for March. It is very different to what I've done before."
