Charlie Simpson has revealed his less than warm feelings towards talent shows in an interview with Absolute Radio.
The ex-Busted and current Fight Star member made it clear that he didn’t hold shows such as The Voice and The X Factor in very high regard.
“I'm not a big fan of reality TV shows to be honest. It's a bit of a cliche to say it's ruining the music industry but I just don't really care about it,” he said.
"I don't think that it helps the artist because they'll have their 15 minutes of fame. If you look at the hit rate of these artists it's very slim. I can maybe think of three or four who have carved out a good career for themselves. The majority of people who come off those shows and have that initial success before it fades away are left in a worse position from where they started.
"The people making the shows don’t care because they're making their millions. It's a bit of a viscous circle but it's entertainment and people enjoy it, so I'm not gonna take that away from people, but It's just not my thing."
During the interview he made it very clear that Busted would not be reuniting to take part in a show like The Big Reunion but that he would be very happy to record with Fight Star again.
