It has been revealed that Glee star Cory Monteith died from a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol.
An autopsy was carried out on Monday by the British Columbia Coroners Service and showed that the star showed "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol”.
At the time of his death, Monteith was staying at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver but sparked concerns amongst hotel staff when he failed to check out at 12pm.
His body was found by maids who entered his room to investigate and it appeared that he had actually died several hours before being found.
The night before his death, Monteith had been enjoying a night out with some of his friends and reports suggest that he had been drinking heavily although a source has also insisted that this wasn’t in fact the case.
Monteith had been open about his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction in the past, entering into rehab in April of this year and he had reportedly also attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in the days preceding his tragic death.
