Robbie Williams Gives up on Cracking US
- in Latest
Robbie Williams has finally made the decision to give up on trying to crack the US market after many years of trying.
The 39 year old admitted that he doubted he would be able to cope with the extra workload that would be needed to maintain a career over there.
He said in a recent interview: "When I released my compilation album The Ego Has Landed I went to America for two months to promote it.
"The album sold one million copies. That was not bad. But I don't want to work that hard.
"I've concluded not to try it again. After that I did not promote any album in the US.
"A lot of fame can be exhausting. I would hardly be able to cope with it [in the US]."
He went on to speak of how uncertain he is of the current state of his career and if he has indeed gone past what he describes as his “golden age”.
Whatever the state of his career, Williams shows no signs of slowing down any time soon and is currently planning on reuniting with writer/ producer Guy Chambers to work with him on his next album.
