School Girl Requests Video Message From Nirvana
- in Latest
A rather confused high school student has sent a letter to Nirvana’s old record label requesting that the band record a video message despite the fact that front man Kurt Cobain died 19 years ago.
Sub Pop received the request from a girl where she asked the band to record a message saying: "It would simply be ‘What’s up Virginia Tech? This is Nirvana! Just wanted to wish you guys a Happy Homecoming Week and good luck at the game this Saturday. LETS GO HOKIES!"
The video was requested as part of a video collage project that students at the school are putting together and includes other artists such as The Cataracs and Ying Yang Twins although the student who made the request for Nirvana was clearly a little confused.
Staff at Sub Pop did their best to uphold the request however and put together a video where four of them delivered the message with three dressed up as members of the band.
The girl’s response implies that she may not even be clear that Nirvana are a three-piece band with her first responding with the message: "You are the best, thank you guys, you are awesome," but also referring in her initial request to band as “her”.
