Lady Gaga Accused of Promoting Gay Propaganda in Russia
- in Latest
Lady Gaga has been accused of promoting “gay propaganda” during the St Petersburg leg of her Born This Way tour by Russian politicians.
The singer has also been accused of breaking immigration laws while she was on tour in the country.
The performance that Gaga put on in Russia was thought to actively promote gay propaganda which has been declared an illegal act in Russia.
Madonna has also been previously accused of similar claims after she performed during her own tour in Russia.
As well as causing a stir with her performance, it has also been claimed that Gaga broke the law by not possessing the correct visa in order to work.
She did have a visa whilst in Russia but officials claim that it was to cover tourism only and not if she was to be earning money whilst there.
Officials have released a statement saying: "The visas issued were of the basic cultural exchange sort, which does not grant their bearers the right to engage in any commercial activity."
The case is now under investigation.
