Muse to Take Over Local Council for a Day
- in Latest
Muse are in talks to take over their local council of Teignbridge for the day.
The band are said to want to claim power over their local council in Devon in order to get young people interested in politics in the region.
Council leader Jeremy Christophers told The Sun newspaper: “We're still in talks to get things sorted. It's vital for the council to engage with the younger generation.”
Christophers then went on to point out that Muse are no strangers to politics and have addressed big issues such as making positive changes in order to ensure the future of the planet in their new album.
“Muse have been busy on tour promoting their album The 2nd Law,” he said.
“The album has songs about global warming and sustainable living, which are important issues.”
Recently Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has spoken out about how the band is sometimes forced to bribe concert venues in order to use their special effects onstage.
“In Rome, we had to bribe people with thousands of Euros just to be allowed to blast our fire effects," he said.
"We had to phone the British Embassy in Rome and argue with some official. If you want to do things like this on the move, it’s quite a big deal.
"It’s pretty bloody expensive, though. It’s pretty mind-boggling how much, actually."
