HMV have revealed plans to open a new store on London’s Oxford Street in the same premises that were first used by the company in the West End.

The flagship store that the company owned on Oxford Street at the time of its collapse earlier this year was sold to Sports Direct but the company have revealed that they will be trading from a different address on the same street.

HMV will be operating from 363 Oxford Street from this October which is the same addr4ess that the company used between 1921 and 2000.

The company are planning on fully embracing the historical significance of the store and will be proudly displaying the His Master’s Voice logo from the 1950s outside.

This news comes as a positive step in the right direction after a long line of doom and gloom for the franchise including store closures, redundancies and battling with ex-employees over their use of the HMV name.
