Katy Perry Stands up for Gay Rights

Katy Perry has stood up for gay rights by opposing a politician’s stance on gay marriage.
Politician Tony Abbott strongly opposes gay marriage and Perry aired her dislike of his stance in an interview with Australian radio presenters Kyle and Jackie O.
As part of the show, there was a segment where famous Australians could phone in to talk to Perry and she immediately questioned Abbott’s views.
“Oh come on, that's not a political question, let's talk about gay marriage,” Katy said.
“I like you as a human being but I just don't believe in your policies. I can't give you my vote, that's what a lot of people should be doing.”
In an attempt to mend the fragile relationship between himself and the singer, Abbott quipped that Perry’s track Hot N Cold would be an appropriate anthem for his party but Perry retorted that the line “you change your mind like a girl changes clothes” would not suit him at all.
“I don't know if that's the best song we can pick for a politician,” she said.
