Lady Gaga has revealed that she expected to have her new single compared to Katy Perry’s and indeed any other artist’s as it is the “nature of the business”.

Gaga and Perry seem to have entered into a sort of rivalry with Gaga’s news single Applause being released the same day as Perry’s Roar though Gaga has revealed that she accepts the competition.

“The press really loves to pit women against each other,” Gaga said in an interview.

'It's just stories, entertainment for people to sell.

“Do we both wish that they would focus more on the music and what we have to offer as artists? Sure, but that's just the nature of the business.”

Gaga went on to describe how excited she is for the release of her new album ARTPOP on November 11th: “I really had a love affair with electronic music on this album. I started out playing in clubs, so I don't really want to leave that.

“I always like existing under ground and over ground at the same time.

“We made an album that we love and I certainly made a record that I'm really proud of. I know the fans will really love it because they love to dance at my shows and this will be a great live show.”
