Freddie Mercury Biopic Will Still go Ahead
- in Latest
The Freddie Mercury biopic is “still very much alive” according to the people behind it.
Doubts were cast over the project after Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen dropped out citing “creative differences” as the reason behind his hasty departure.
Cohen was signed up to the project shortly after it was announced back in 2010 but it is thought that he had a number of clashes with the film’s producers including over what certificate the film should be made in compliance with.
There is not yet any word on who may be tipped to replace Cohen as the iconic front man.
Roger Taylor has been confirmed as music supervisor for the project while Graham King, Tim Headington, Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal are all on board to produce the film.
