The BBC have announced that Kylie Minogue will be appearing as a judge on the next series of The Voice.

She will be joining Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am who will also be returning for another series in the absence of Danny O’Donoghue and Jessie J.

Minogue revealed that she can’t wait to be a part of the panel.

"I'm very excited to become a coach on The Voice UK," she said.

"I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series.

"The search for new talent is such an important aspect of the music industry and The Voice UK gives us all a part to play in that.

"Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine! Watch this space!"

Will and Tom both revealed that even though they will miss their former fellow coaches, they are looking forward to Kylie bringing a new energy to the panel.

The BBC themselves also seem pleased with their new signing with BBC controller of entertainment commissioning Mark Linsey saying: "Kylie is a hugely respected figure within the world of music and will be a fantastic addition to The Voice UK.

"She is a true pop icon and her longevity in the industry is testament to her creative and musical ability."

There has been no word as yet who will take the fourth position on the panel.
