Organisers of the Eurovision Song Contest have announced a change to the rules regarding each country’s jury for this year.

This year the names of everyone on each country’s jury will be revealed before the start of the competition.

The jury’s votes account for 50% of each country’s score and claims of bribery were rife after this year’s event.

Executive supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, Jon Ola Sand said: "Tighter rules and increased openness are important for the Eurovision Song Contest to build on its success.

"We want to make sure participants, viewers and fans know that we have done, and will always do, our utmost to secure a fair result.

"We believe in the independence of every jury member [and] I believe the fact their votes are on display will help them vote independently."

In previous years, the identity of each juror was not revealed until after the competition but as part of the changes this year, each juror’s individual scores will be made available.

Who can qualify to be a juror will also become stricter with people who have taken part in previous contests unable to qualify.
