Daniel Radcliffe has spoken out to deny claims that he will be playing Freddie Mercury in the upcoming biopic.

Sacha Baron Cohen was previously linked with the project but later pulled out after a disagreement with the film’s producers over the direction that the film should take.

There have recently been rumours that film makers were considering Radcliffe as Cohen’s replacement but Daniel has since come forward to dismiss the claims.

He told Empire: “Everyone on the internet who I presume is saying I'm totally wrong for that part is correct.

"I am completely wrong for that part!"

Roger Taylor of Queen expressed his relief when Cohen left the project saying that he and Brian May believed that his portrayal of Mercury would be too humourous.
