Miley Cyrus has once again caused controversy, this time at the MTV Europe Music Awards which were held last night in Amsterdam.

She caused a wave of speculation over social media sites by apparently lighting up and smoking a joint whilst accepting her prize for Best Video.

While Miley hasn’t commented on the matter directly, she did later tweet: "Stay in school & Be kind. Other than that HAVE FUN"

Whilst performing, she also caused a stir but surprised few with her twerking antics whilst performing her hit single We Can’t Stop alongside a little person wearing a dominatrix-style black leather outfit.

She later returned to the stage to perform an emotional rendition of Wrecking Ball.

As well as picking up the Best Video award for Wrecking Ball, Miley also claimed the Best United States Act award.
