Lady Gaga has herself confirmed herself that she has been asked to perform in space.

Previously there were rumours about the singer performing in zero gravity as part of the Zero G Colony festival although Gaga herself hadn’t confirmed these rumours until now.

Gaga spoke at the launch party of her new album ARTPOP: "I did not buy a ticket, no, my ticket was given to me

"I was asked specifically to sing.

"So I'm going to be the first recording artist to sing in space. And I did not purchase my flight."

She continued: "This is a special festival event held by Zero G Colony and I will be flying in space two months after the first commercial flights take off."

ARTPOP has done incredibly well since it was released at the beginning of the week, having already topped the iTunes chart.
