iTunes Refund James Arthur Fan Because of Homophobic Language
- in Latest
iTunes has offered a refund to a customer who bought James Arthur’s new album after the singer used homophobic language towards a rapper.
Arthur use the lyric "You f**king queer" towards unknown rapper Micky Worthless which resulted in a flurry of backlash from outraged fans.
A Twitter user has now posted a copy of an email from iTunes which appears to agree to the refund.
It reads: "I understand that you would like to cancel the album you have purchased because of the comments made by the artist which you didn't like.
"After reviewing the circumstances of your case, we determined that issuing you a refund for your purchase of James Arthur is an appropriate exception to the iTunes Store Terms and Conditions, which state that all sales are final."
Arthur apologized to fans through Twitter after making the comments and has since vowed to keep away from the social media site after having a very public argument with comedian Frankie Boyle.
