The latest in the Now That’s What I Call Music series of compilations has become the second fastest selling album of the year so far.

Now! 86 has sold 270,000 copies in its first week of release which means that it has shot to the top of the compilations chart.

The album sits just behind its predecessor which manages to shift 317,000 copies in its first week of release but ahead of Now! 84 which was released back in Mach and sold 262,000 copies in its first week.

Currently the fastest selling artist album of the year is Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories which managed to shift an impressive 165,000 copies in its first week of release.
