Britney Spears’ new album “Britney Jean” has become the worst performing album of her career in its first week of sales having sold just 107,000 copies in the US.

The album has reached number 4 in the Billboard charts but has only managed to claw its way to number 34 in the UK album charts.

Spears’ last album “Femme Fatale” shot straight to number one in the US charts when it was released back in 2011 having sold 276,000 copies in its first week of release.

Her current album has received mixed reviews from critics, many of the damning the album claiming that it is too “impersonal” and “lacks spark”.
