Robbie Williams Climbs Back to Number One in Album Charts
- in Latest
Robbie Williams has climbed back to the number one spot on the album charts with his second swing album, “Swings Both Ways”.
The album was previously number one when it was first released back on November 24th but was forced from the position a week later when One Direction released their latest album “Midnight Memories”.
To get back to number one, Robbie's album managed to sell 5,000 more copies than the former X Factor contestants.
Elsewhere in the world of albums and album sales, Beyoncé caused a stir this week after surprise releasing her fifth and self-titled studio album.
She sent iTunes into meltdown with eager fans trying to download their copy.
She managed to make the amazing achievement of managing to sell 68,000 through download alone which as the Official Chart Company's chief executive Martin Talbon explains.
"It is a great achievement by Beyoncé to make such an impact so quickly, after just two days sales - and especially only with the digital edition available. Few (if any) albums have sold as many digital copies in such a short space of time."
