Mariah Carey's festive favourite “All I Want For Christmas is You” has been named the nation's number one favourite Christmas tune.
A poll was carried out by PromotionalCodes.org.uk asking 6000 participants to name their favourite Christmas songs from a list provided by the site.
Carey stormed to the top with 26% of voters naming her their favourite with The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl's “Fairytale of New York” coming in a close second with 19% of the votes.
Slade's “Merry Xmas Everybody” came third having amassed 16% of the votes with Wizard's “I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday” coming in fourth with 11%.
Wham! Completed the top five with their song “Last Christmas” claiming 9% of the vote.
One female respondant said: “As soon as I hear these songs on the radio, I know that Christmas is just around the corner.
“Although after about the fifth or sixth time of hearing Noddy Holder shouting 'It's Christmas!' they begin to grate a little.
