Sam Bailey has shot straight to number one in the iTunes chart with her first single “Skyscraper”.
The X Factor contestant beat off competition from fellow contestant Nicholas McDonald to win the show and her winner's single, a cover of the Demi Lovato song became available to download straight after the show's conclusion.
Within a couple of hours, the song had reached the top of the chart and looks set to make a huge impact on the Christmas chart with a physical copy of the single being released on Wednesday.
Sam performed the winner's single during the final of the X Factor on Sunday night and left mentor Sharon Osbourne in floods of tears with an emotional performance.
When asked to critique her performance by show's host Dermot O'Leary, Sharon was unable to muster any words through her tears, promoting Dermot to say “That says it all”.
Gary added: “You've stolen the hearts of the nation. You've done this on behalf of people whose dreams have stayed dreams.”
Nicole also said: “You got me looking like a hot mess, the first time I saw you you brought tears to my eyes, and you've done it again with your last performance.”
Sam has some stiff competition in the race for Christmas number one with releases from The Big Reunion cast, Katy Perry and even a reappearance by AC/DC.
