Steps pop star Ian “H” Watkins has received an official apology in court from the website that posted a picture of him next to a story about convicted paedophile Ian Watkins, the former frontman of band Lostprophets.

Entertainment website E! Online published the photo along with a story about the Lostprophets singer back when he pleaded guilty in court to 13 separate sexual offences before realising their mistake and quickly removing it.

H appeared in court yesterday and later updated his fans on his Facebook page saying: "In Court this morning E! have publically apologised to me and a statement has been read in court to make the position clear. This was not something that I did lightly but it was important to me that a public statement was made so that there is no confusion going forward.

"I am really pleased that it has been resolved so quickly so that my family and I can try and move on from what has been an extremely distressing time."
