Abba’s record label Universal are planning a year of celebrations to mark the 40 year anniversary of the group winning the Eurovision Song Contest.

The band won the famous contest way back in 1974 with their hit song “Waterloo” and in addition to bringing the title home for Sweden, the track was also a massive hit across the globe.

It reached number one in several countries including in Ireland, Belgium and Germany and reached an impressive number six in the US.

Universal has revealed that to mark the occasion, they are planning on reissuing a lot of Abba material with bonus tracks and are also planning as yet undisclosed “activities”.
