James Arthur referenced his recent use of homophobic language whilst on stage in Edinburgh last night, telling the audience that he is “not a homophobe anymore”.

He was of course referring to the incident towards the end of last year where he performed a diss rap aimed at rapper Micky Worthless calling him a “fucking queer” and comparing him to the Taliban.

He was later criticised by other celebrities including Frankie Boyle, Matt Lucas and his close friend Lucy Spraggan who took particular offence to his comments.

At his sold out gig last night, James performed new single “Get Down” before which he told the crowd "This one will hopefully get played on the radio, cause I'm not a homophobe any more."

He later admitted "I'm not much of a public speaker."
