Ian Watkins Appeals to Have Sentence Reduced

Ian Watkins, former front man of the band Lostprophets has applied for permission for his prison sentence to be reduced.
The singer was sentenced to 29 years in prison after being found guilty of several child sex offences including attempted rape of a baby at the end of last year.
The Court of Appeal has now confirmed that Watkins’ appeal to shorten his sentence was received two days ago.
In court Watkins admitted to conspiring to rape a child, three counts of sexual assault involving children, seven involving taking, making or possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal but pleaded not guilty to rape.
South Wales Police are currently in the middle of an investigation into whether Watkins committed any offences in Germany and America.
