Thousands of members of the public have signed an online petition with the aim to get Justin Bieber deported from the US following the Canadian singer’s arrest.

More than 50,000 signatures have been collected for the petition which is on the White House's We The People website.

The petition states: “We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nation’s youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society."

Unfortunately for the many people who have signed the petition, Bieber is unlikely to be deported for his crimes as US law states that immigrants must be convicted of a violent crime or sentenced to more than a year in prison before they can be considered for deportation.
