Christina Aguilera has revealed through Twitter that she has gotten engaged to boyfriend Matt Rutler.

The singer posting a coy message to her fans on the social media site saying: “He asked and I said..,” along with a picture of the two of them holding hands with her sporting an impressive engagement ring.

A source close to the pair said: “They're very much in love and are really excited to take this next step!"

Christina has previously gushed about the happiness she has sound with Rutler, telling Ellen DeGeneres: “He's the love of my life, and I adore him. He's such a character, and he's so happy and at the end of the day, that's what's most important."
