David Bowie Makes History at the Brit Awards
- in Latest
David Bowie made history at the Brits last night, becoming the oldest ever recipient of one of the awards.
Bowie won the Best British Male Solo Artist award, something he also did back in 1984.
Bowie himself did not attend the ceremony but instead sent Kate Moss to pick up the accolade in his place.
Moss graced the stage wearing a costume that Bowie himself wore back in 1972 and explained its significance in an acceptance speech that Bowie had penned: "In Japanese myth, the rabbits on my old costume that Kate is wearing live on the moon. Kate comes from Venus, and I'm from Mars. I'm completely delighted for having a Brit for being Best Male. But I am. Aren't I Kate?" she read.
"I think it's a great way to end the day. Thank you very, very much and Scotland stay with us."
