McFly and Busted who have teamed up to create super group McBusted have revealed that they would love for Charlie Simpson to re join them.

Since leaving Busted, Charlie has forged a career for himself as part of the band Fightstar and more recently has undergone a solo career.

Busted band mate James Bourne said in an interview with Jonathon Ross: "I understand why he left. When people say he didn't have a great time, that's not true.

"He was in the band for two years and the first year he was in the band he had an amazing time, and I know that because I was there. But there came to a point where I felt he felt like he wasn't releasing the music that he was creating on his own.

"It was about him releasing the music he wanted to release. Some of my favourite songs that we released were written, he and I, but as a whole the singles we were releasing weren't his cup of tea.

"I think McBusted works like this, but we all like Charlie, we don't have a problem with Charlie and I think we'd like him to come back. It's up to him."
