Cher’s “Believe” Top Selling Song From a Female Artist

It has been announced that Cher’s 1998 single “Believe” is the biggest-selling single from a female artist in the history of the UK charts.

The Official Charts Company compiled a list of the top 40 biggest selling songs from female artists as part of International Women’s Day.

Cher’s “Believe” spent seven weeks at the top of the charts in the UK when it was first released in 1998 and since then has sold over 1.78 million copies.

Whitney Houston’s song from the film “The Bodyguard”; “I Will Always Love You” was named the second biggest selling song having sold 1.58 million copies since it was released in 1992.

Britney Spears completed the top three with “...Baby One More Time”.

10. All Saints - 'Never Ever'
