Sam Bailey is currently of course to reach the number one spot in the album charts with her debut offering this Sunday.
“The Power of Love” has stormed ahead of the competition in the mid week charts just a day after its release and is currently 4,000 copies ahead of its nearest rival.
If Bailey manages to hit the top spot, she will be the first X Factor winner to do so since Alexandra Burke with “Overcome” back in 2009.
All of the winners since then, Joe McElderry, Matt Cardle, Little Mix and James Arthur have all failed to get to number one with their debut efforts.
Bailey’s album contains some of her best loved covers as performed by her on the X Factor including the album’s title track.
It also contains several duets including “And I Am Telling You” as performed by Bailey on the X Factor final with Nicole Scherzinger and “Ain’t no Mountain High Enough” with Michael Bolton.
