There have been rumours that have suggested that the Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls were planning on launching a joint tour together but rumours have now been confirmed as false.

The Sun started speculation after saying that the two bands were in “early talks” about the tour.

A spokesperson representing the Backstreet Boys spoke to MTV News and confirmed that no such tour is being planned although there is the possibility that the band will be touring with Avril Lavigne in the summer.

The Spice Girls may not be reuniting just yet but Mel C did recently suggest that the girls were hoping to do something to mark the 20th anniversary of the release of “Wannabe” in the UK in 2016.

Any such reunion will reportedly not feature Victoria Beckham who is focusing on her solo ventures.
