Disney have revealed that they are looking into a trademark registration that has been filed by deadmau5.

The DJ has applied for a trademark to cover the logo that he works under; the caricature of a mouse which is intended to be used on a range of merchandise including electrical and scientific apparatus and BMX bikes.

In addition, the attempted registration would also apply to toys and sporting goods, staple foods, light beverages and entertainment services.

Disney have now decided that there is a strong likeness between deadmau5’ logo and their own mascot Mickey Mouse and announced that they will now be investigating the matter.

They claim that there could be too much confusion amongst consumers and that it could be construed as misleading.

Disney have now asked for 90 days in order to carry out their investigations.
