Kasabian, Elbow and Arcade Fire have experienced on average a 150% rise in ticket demand, following the announcement that they are playing this year’s Glastonbury Festival, according to ticket marketplace Seatwave.

Kasabian received the biggest boost with an impressive 300% increase in ticket searches, while Arcade Fire experienced a 100% increase and Elbow a 50% increase.

Last year’s headliners, The Arctic Monkeys and Mumford and Sons experienced a similar boost in ticket demand when their names were announced last year. Other acts confirmed for the June festival include, Jack White, Dolly Parton, Lana Del Rey, Ed Sheeran and Lily Allen.

A spokesperson for Seatwave commented: “Year after year we see the power of the Glastonbury-effect. A headline spot at this prestigious festival almost always guarantees increased popularity and this is before any of the acts have even played a note. As the festival draws nearer and the hype builds, we expect other acts to also benefit from a bump in ticket demand.”

Glastonbury festival dates start Wednesday 25th to Sunday 29th June
