Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills has championed a K-pop focused show within his own prime time show on the station.

As part of a competition run by the station, 22-year-old Sam Ranns won the chance to record his own hour long show during which he could play his own choice of music.

Scott Mills took an exert from the recording and played it during his own show despite claiming that he wasn’t meant to do so.

Ranns said: "Shock, fear, and amazement pretty much round up how I felt."

He explained: "'Access All Areas' was promoted as 60 minutes in the studio doing what you want, and then they would give you a USB stick with your show. But here I was halfway through my show with Scott Mills playing some of the songs I chose to quite possibly millions of listeners. I really couldn't believe it and it threw me for a loop."
