Simon Cowell has signed a deal for his Syco company to develop music-based films for younger audiences.

The company has partnered with Australian company Animal Logic Entertainment in order to produce the films.

Sony Pictures have cleared a so far untitled project that the partnership are working on and is due to be released some time in 2016.

"This was a perfect fit [of] very complementary talents," said Animal Logic CEO Zareh Nalbandian.

Syco and Simon Cowell himself have been very busy recently having previously released the One Direction film “This is us” and having ten more projects in the works.

Cowell is also working on a new reality TV show focusing on DJs.
