Ticket demand for the annual Capital FM Summertime Ball is currently 50% higher than for last year's event, boosted by headliners including Miley Cyrus and Ellie Goulding, according to ticket marketplace Seatwave. Demand for the event is the highest Seatwave has recorded in the concert's five year history.
The event, which takes place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 21st June, also features Cheryl Cole, Pharrell, David Guetta and Rita Ora, however, Seatwave has noted that most music fans have been drawn to the event via searches for tickets to see Miley Cyrus. The 'Wrecking Ball' singer has received rave reviews as well as generated some controversy for her recent London shows. Fans are also speculating on whether Cheryl Cole will debut some of the new material she has been working on in the US at the Ball.
A spokesperson for Seatwave commented: "We usually see a high level of demand for the Summertime Ball, however, this year is set to break records due to a very strong line up led by Miley Cyrus. She is arguably one of the most popular performers in the world right now. With support from acts including Pharrell, who released one of the biggest singles of the year with Happy, and Ellie Goulding who is now a bona fide global star, and you have an incredibly good day of music."
