A video showing One Direction’s Zayn Malik allegedly smoking weed has been leaked to the Daily Mail.

The video was filmed by Malik’s band mate Louis Tomlinson and shows the singer rolling a joint and proceeding to smoke it whilst they were on their way to a gig in South America.

"So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days!" a voice thought to be Tomlinson can be heard saying.

"What do you think about that kind of content?" he continues to ask Malik, who replies: "Very controversial."

The rest of the members of the group were not travelling with the pair at the time.

At one point in the video, the pair can be heard mocking the police escort outside their vehicle with Tomlinson saying: "One-nil bitch. Look at this bitch! He's having a look. He's thinking, 'I'm sure I can smell an illegal substance in there'."

Representatives of the band have yet to comment.
