Spotify have announced that they will be releasing a new update for their app soon after the company came under attack from hackers.

The update will be made available soon for the music streaming service’s Android app and will help to combat any security issues following the breach.

The Swedish based firm investigated the matter and found that only one very unlucky user had been affected by the breach and there was no evidence to suggest that any passwords or financial data was compromised following the attack.

Spotify’s CTO Oskar Stal said: "Based on our findings, we are not aware of any increased risk to users as a result of this incident."

Spotify is the second high profile company to come under attack in recent weeks with eBay recently urging users to change their passwords after they came under attack from hackers.
